Released Wednesday, February 23, 2005

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated Houston, Texas). Amantea Nonwovens LLC (Cincinnati, Ohio) is performing site preparation for a grassroot nonwoven fabric manufacturing plant in Cincinnati, Ohio. Located on Stager Drive in the Wilson Hills Technical Center, the company plans to construct a 250,000 square foot plant and install equipment to manufacture resin-bon nonwovens, which are used as an acquisition and distribution layer (ADL) in Procter & Gamble's (P&G) baby diapers. Site preparation for the project started in January 2005 and building construction is anticipated to begin in the late spring of 2005, with overall completion in the spring of 2006.

Duke Construction Company, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, was awarded the general construction contract for the new plant.

Amantea Nonwovens LLC, was established in 2003 in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a privately-owned company and the first minority-owned distributor and manufacturer of nonwoven fabrics in the United States. The company is comprised of three owners, Kevin Lynch, Albis SpA, Italy, and Sorin Cranic. It supplies nonwoven fibers that are used in diapers, tampons, and other products.

Procter & Gamble has agreed to buy $30 million worth of products through December of 2005 from Amantea Nonwovens and has agreed to help the company find other buyers for its products. Amantea will provide specialty nonwovens to P&G's North American diaper and global tampon businesses through a distribution agreement with BBA Fiberweb, one of P&G's current nonwovens suppliers.
