AmeriCold Logistics Investing $30 Million in Indianapolis Facility

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--AmeriCold Logistics Incorporated (Atlanta, Georgia) has started construction on a $30 million expansion project at the company's cold storage facility in Indianapolis, Indiana.

AmeriCold will increase the space of its 400,000-square-foot facility by 100,000 square feet, including 25,000 square feet of office and dock space. The facility also will feature a rack-supported high-rise, automated storage/retrieval system (AS/RS) and will offer convertible temperature storage to house products from -10 to +35 degrees Fahrenheit.

AmeriCold let the refrigeration package to Innovative Refrigeration Systems (Lyndhurst, Virginia) and assigned it to Primus Builders (Woodstock, Georgia) as part of a design-build contract.

Primus is currently pouring the foundation for the dock and will begin the foundation for the 120-foot-tall structure in about three weeks. Structural steel erection will commence in early April, and arrival of the racking system is anticipated by the third week of April. The project is on schedule to be completed at the end of the year.
