REFINING HIGHLIGHTS
China's Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao Company continues to operate its 260,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Shanghai Refinery in Shanghai Shi at 70%. The rate cut started January 31 and is expected to last until April 30.

ExxonMobil restarted the 65,000-BBL/d HF 4 Hydroformer (Catalytic Reformer) on Sunday at its 557,000-BBL/d Baytown, Texas, refinery. The unit was shut down on April 8. The refinery is being run at reduced rates.

The Dominican Republic's Refineria Dominicana de Petroleo SA is running its 34,000-BBL/d Santo Domingo refinery at 40% at least through April.


PETROCHEMICAL HIGHLIGHTS
India's National Fertilizers Limited has delayed the completion of an ammonia revamp project at its Vijaipur Fertilizer complex due to the pandemic. The project was originally planned for completion this month, but operations now are tentatively expected to start up by the third quarter of this year.

Iran's Kian Petrochemical Company expects to face delays in permit processes and engineering for its $4.5 billion grassroot petrochemical complex. All the project activities have been temporarily suspended and would resume once the government authorities issue a go-ahead.

Argentina's Petroquimica Cuyo has been forced to postpone the completion of a project that would increase its production capacity at its 397,000-pound-per-year polypropylene facility by 30%. The project now is expected to be completed closer to September.

Poliestireno y Derivados is processing polystyrene at minimum rates at its plant in Tlaxcala State, Mexico.



METALS & MINERALS HIGHLIGHTS
Newmont is planning a phased approach to restarting mining assets in the Americas shuttered due to COVID-19 precautions. The mines include the Musselwhite gold mine in Ontario, Canada, the Eleonore mine in Quebec, Canada, the Cerro Negro mine in Argentina and the Penasquito mine in Mexico.

FOOD & BEVERAGE HIGHLIGHTS
There has been an outbreak of COVID-19 among employees at the JBS Packerland beef processing plant in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The plant employs about 800 workers and remains operating as an essential business.
