Prequalified bidders include Black & Veatch (Kansas City, Missouri), Iberdrola Engineering and Construction (San Diego, California), Fagen Engineering (Granite Falls, Minnesota), The Industrial Company (TIC) (Englewood, Colorado) and McCarthy Building Companies (St. Louis, Missouri).
The 333-MW plant now consists of two Siemens AG (NYSE:SI) (Munich, Germany) steam turbine generators, two Alstom (Levallois-Perret, France) CE boilers, two Siemens W501A gas turbines, and three photovoltaic (PV) solar units.
Arizona Public Service will award an EPC contract between December 2014 and January 2015. Construction is scheduled to begin by mid-2016, with completion by the end of 2017.
