Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Metal tube component manufacturer, Tube Specialties Company Incorporated (Troutdale, Oregon) (Company #1081018) is doubling the size of its 106,000 square foot plant located in the Sherrill Industrial Park in Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina. The $4 million expansion project began this past summer and is almost finished at this time (Plant 1062265).
G.L. Wilson Building Company (Statesville, North Carolina) designed and built the addition.
The expansion in Statesville brings this plant up to the size of its sister plant in Troutdale, Oregon. Tube Specialties Company does pipe and tube fab, bending, powder coating, and assembling and finishing of automotive metal tube components for the three Freightliner truck assembly plants in Cleveland, Rowan County (Plant 1501588), and Gastonia (Plant 1508166), and Mount Holly (Plant 1506829), Gaston County.
Statesville has seen a good bit of industrial expansion this year. ASMO North Carolina, a subsidiary of North American Denso (Southfield, Michigan) will invest $40 million for a new production line in its Statesville plant (Plant 1062258) to produce a new lightweight motor for automotive use. ASMO produces small motors for applications such as power windows and climate-control devices. The new equipment and machinery will come from ASMO's parent company in Kosai City, Japan, ASMO, Limited. In-house technicians will perform all the equipment installation work. The expansion is not expected to add any new jobs.
FlexSol Packaging Incorporated (Pompano Beach, Florida), broke ground in August on a $5 million expansion which will almost double its original 25,000 square foot Statesville plant (Plant 1040305) and add 24 jobs. FlexSol makes plastic film for food industry packaging. The Statesville plant was a part of the former Eclipse Packaging Incorporated, which was bought out by FlexSol in May 2003.
