Automotive Supplier TKA Fabco Expands New Mississippi Plant

ThyssenKrupp Fabco, also known as TKA Fabco (Windsor, Ontario), a division of engineering and steel giant ThyssenKrupp AG (DAX:TKA) (Duesseldorf, Germany), is completing a $26 million, 52,500 square foot Phase 2 expansion on its existing 47,500 square foot plant in Shannon, Mississippi. The expansion of the plant, which began in October 2003, one year after the original plant was opened, will give TKA Fabco a total of 100,000 square feet of production area, the same as its sister plant in Springfield, Tennessee.

TKA Fabco supplies original equipment medium and heavy metal stampings, modular assemblies, weldings, and systems to the automotive industry, including full body underframes, side impact beams and hydro-formed tubing, among others. Besides the two U.S. plants in Mississippi and Tennessee, the company has three plants in Windsor (250,000 square feet), Dresden (60,000 square feet), and Ridgetown (78,000 square feet), Ontario.
