BASF, China's Sinopec Yangzi to Build Ethylene Unit in Nanjing

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Nanjing Yangzi Yangba Olefins Company Limited, a joint venture (JV) recently established between Sinopec Yangzi and BASF, seeks to add a 1 million-ton-per-year ethylene unit at its plant in Nanjing, the capital of China's Jiangsu province.

The JV would use ethylene-rich gas, propane, saturated liquefied gas and other feedstock provided by Yangzi Petrochemical as raw materials to build a steam cracking unit, gasoline hydrogenation unit, aromatics extraction unit and styrene extraction unit.
