Brazos Electric Power Cooperative Completes Construction of 620-Megawatt Power Project

Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Incorporated (Waco, Texas) has completed construction and start- up testing of the $250 million, 620-megawatt Jack County Generating Facility located in Bridgeport, Texas.

Construction for the project started in December of 2003 and was completed in October of this year. Brazos Electric anticipates full commercial start-up to commence in January of 2006. The project consisted of a 2-on-1 combined cycle power island equipped with two natural gas-fired 146-megawatt GE Power Systems MS7001FA combustion turbine/generators, two triple pressure reheat duct-fired Cockerill Mechanical Industries heat recovery steam generators and a 276-megawatt condensing GE Power Systems D-11 steam turbine/generator.

Burns and McDonnell, Incorporated, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, performed the engineering services for the project. Flour Corporation (NYSE:FLR ,) based in Aliso Viejo, California, performed the engineering, construction and procurement services.
