Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Bunge Canada, a division of Bunge North America (NYSE:BG) (Saint Louis, Missouri), has moved into high gear on the expansion of a vegetable oil processing plant in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. The company started construction on the $20 million capital investment last May and is progressing towards completing the project by November. Plans call for increasing the plants output of vegetable oil from 1,000 tons per day to 1,400 tons per day, while increasing its crush capacity and more than doubling its current refining capacity.
Bunge awarded Diaser Management, Limited (Winnipeg, Manitoba) a design-build contract. Diaser is moving forward with the last of several civil and mechanical packages this spring.
Industrial Info released a project report in January 2006 detailing Bunges plans and schedule for the Nipawin expansion. The Nipawin plant is among six Bunge processing facilities in Canada including two in Manitoba, one in Alberta and Ontario and another in Saskatchewan. Industrial Infos Industrial Plant Database lists over 7,000 major operational plants in the Food & Beverage Industry in the U.S. and Canada, including key management contacts and related company information.
