Burris Logistics Ready to Enclose Building on New $40 Million Distribution Center in Connecticut

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Privately held Burris Logistics (Milford, Delaware), one of the largest temperature-controlled logistics companies on the East Coast, is constructing a food distribution center in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Plans call for the construction of a corporate office and warehouse facility of approximately 250,000 square feet on a 92-acre site, zoned as a light industrial business park near exit 23 on Interstate 91.

Burris started construction on the new $40 million refrigerated facility last fall and began pouring concrete in December. Structural steel erection commenced in January, and the company expects to have the building enclosed this spring. The new facility is scheduled to be operational by July 2008.

Stellar (Jacksonville, Florida) is the design-build contractor and the refrigeration package. Stellar will self-perform most of the mechanical trades and sub-contract the refrigeration package.
