CGNPC Unveils Joint Venture Company for Nuclear Power Project in Hubei Province

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--An unveiling ceremony was recently held in Xianning City of central China's Hubei province for Hubei Xianning Nuclear Power Company Limited, a joint venture company formed by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC) (Shenzhen) and Hubei Energy Group Company Limited (HEGC) (Wuhan). CGNPC will hold 60% of the company, and HEGC will hold 40%.

Hubei Xianning Nuclear was established for the Hubei Xianning Nuclear Power Project, one of China's first inland nuclear power projects. The project, located in Xianning, is also the largest project in the city's history. Four 1,000-megawatt (MW) pressurized water reactor nuclear power units will be built, totaling more than $8.75 billion. Preparations are progressing as planned.

China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group (CGNPG) (Shenzhen) is building the units with its CPR1000 nuclear power technology. CGNPC is also building a European pressurized reactor and is participating in the construction of a Westinghouse AP1000 unit.
