Cheniere Seeks Okay to Process to Return Storage Tank That Leaked - Liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Cheniere Energy (NSYE:LNG) asked U.S. energy and safety regulators to approve a process that would allow the company to return to service a storage tank that leaked at its Sabine Pass LNG export plant in Louisiana. The proposed process would prioritize work on one tank, known as S-101, and allow that tank to return to service in the near term. (Reuters)

Two Canadian Oil Producers Announce Higher Capital Budgets - Canada's two biggest oil producers are cautiously boosting spending next year despite congested pipelines and government production limits, waging they can thrive in a weak market better than smaller companies that are reining in capital. Canadian Natural Resources (NYSE:CNQ) and Suncor Energy (NYSE:SU) announced higher 2020 capital budgets this week. Canadian Natural expects to spend C$4.05 billion ($3.07 billion), C$250 million up from this year. Suncor expects capital spending of between C$5.4 billion ($4.09 billion) and C$6 billion ($4.55 billion). (Reuters)
