China Adds 7.7 Million Tons/Year in New Urea Capacity
Projects accounting for 7.72 million tons of new urea capacity are under construction in China
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--According to the statistics of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, projects accounting for 7.72 million tons of new urea capacity are under construction in China, which are expected to be completed and put into operation in the next two years.
Analysis of nitrogen fertilizer consumption in recent years shows China's average annual nitrogen fertilizer demand growth after 2018 is only about 1%, which is equivalent to an increase of 600,000 tons per year of urea. The new production capacity would impact operating rates and the economy of the nitrogen fertilizer sector.
