China Datang Signs Agreement To Build Mine-Mouth Coal-Fired Power Plant in Central China's Henan Province

The signing ceremony of the Cooperative Framework Agreement between China Datang Henan Branch Company (Datang Henan) (Zhengzhou, Henan) and the Government of Yiyang County, for the development of a coal and power integration project in Yiyang County of Central China's Henan Province was held in Luoyang on July 22, 2009. SU Min, Vice President of Datang Henan and HUANG Xiaoling, Governor of Yiyang County, signed the Agreement on behalf of both parties respectively, China Datang Corporation (Beijing) announced on July 28, 2009.

According to the Agreement, Datang Henan and the Government of Yiyang County will jointly build two 1.5 million ton coal mines and a 1,200-megawatt combined heat and power plant in Yiyang County. With the signing of the Agreement, Datang Henan will actively carry out the pre-stage preparation for the project, and further carrying through the strategic deployment of "building Henan into a national thermal power base", said SU Min on the signing ceremony.

The proposed coal project in Yiyang is a key energy project listed in the development plan of Luoyang City. The project is to be built under the principle of "coal and power integrated development" in corresponding to the nation's energy policy. The project is also an important project to build Datang Henan as the top power producer in Henan Province. Upon completion, the project will effectively promote the economic development in the surrounding area of Yiyang County as well as the entire Henan Province.
