China Huadian Signs EPC Contract for Cambodian Coal-fired Power Plant
The signing ceremony for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the 100-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant between China Huadian Engineering Corporation Limited (CHEC) (Beijing), a subsidiary of China Huadian Corporation (Beijing), and Cambodian Energy Limited (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) was held in Beijing on December 7.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The signing ceremony for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the 100-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant between China Huadian Engineering Corporation Limited (CHEC) (Beijing), a subsidiary of China Huadian Corporation (Beijing), and Cambodian Energy Limited (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) was held in Beijing on December 7. Mushan Fang, chairman of Cambodian Energy, and Linwei Li, general manager of CHEC Oversea Engineering Company, signed the contract on for their respective parties.
This project is the first general contract signed by CHEC in Cambodia. According to the contract, CHEC will be responsible for EPC services for the plant, which is located in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The 100-MW coal-fired plant is scheduled to begin operation by 2012. "It has important meaning for CHEC's overseas development, especially for its EPC business in Cambodia," China Huadian Corporation said in its announcement.
The signing of the contract means that CHEC's overseas business, especially in Cambodia, has entered a new stage of development. The project will give CHEC a foothold in the country. Both parties hope to achieve new agreements based on the successful cooperation in the current project.
