China's Natural Gas Output Rises 9.7% in October from Year Earlier

China saw a 9.7% increase in natural gas production last month

Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--China produced 10.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas in October, a 9.7% increase over the same month last year, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

For the first 10 months of 2014, natural gas output rose 8.2% from the same period last year to 103.8 million cubic meters, the NDRC reported.

China's natural gas imports in October rose 19.4% from a year earlier to 4.6 billion cubic meters. Apparent natural gas consumption increased 8.5% to 13.9 billion cubic meters.

For the first 10 months of this year, natural gas imports totaled 47 billion cubic meters, a 10.2% increase over the same 10 months in 2013. Apparent natural gas consumption reached 143.1 billion cubic meters, an increase of 7.1%.

Also in October, China's crude oil output rose 0.2% from the same month last year to 17.89 million tonnes. Processed oil totaled 39.1 million tonnes, an increase of 3.2%. Refined oil products reached 24.52 million tonnes, an increase of 4.6%; consumption of refined oil products rose 3.8% to 23.93 million tonnes. Gasoline output in October rose 13.3 from a year earlier; diesel output fell 2.2%.

China's stockpile of refined oil products at the end of October was 410,000 tonnes more than a year earlier, but 700,000 tonnes less than in September.

For January through October this year, crude oil production reached 173.73 million tonnes, up 0.4% from the same 10 months in 2013. Production of refined oil products totaled 225.59 million tonnes, up 4.9%.

China's apparent consumption of refined oil products during the first 10 months of this year totaled 224.52 million tonnes, a 3.1% increase over the same period last year. Gasoline consumption during this period rose 8.9%, and diesel consumption fell 1%.
