China's power consumption totaled 646.7 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in November, an increase of 9.4% from the same month last year, according to China's National Energy Administration (NEA).
China's power consumption in the "first industry" (agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining, and oil and gas production) totaled 6.8 billion kWh, a 12.9% increase from November 2019, while the "second industry" (manufacturing) totaled 467.9 billion kWh, a 9.9% increase; the "third industry" (services) totaled 97.4 billion kWh, an 8.1% increase; and that of rural and urban residents totaled 74.6 billion kWh, a 7.3% increase.
From January through November 2020, China's power consumption totaled 6.68 trillion kWh, a 2.5% increase from the same period last year. China's power consumption in the first industry totaled 77.8 billion kWh, a 9.9% increase; the second industry totaled 4.5 trillion kWh, a 2.1% increase; the third industry totaled 1.09 trillion kWh, a 0.8% increase; that that of rural and urban residents totaled 1 trillion kWh, a 6% increase.
