Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--North China Power Engineering Company Limited (NCPE) (Beijing), a subsidiary of China Power Engineering Consultancy Corporation (Beijing), has signed a cooperation agreement with China National Corporation for Overseas Economic Cooperation (CCOEC) (Beijing) for the Minsk 5 Thermal Power Station in Belarus. This is the companies' second project in Belarus, after the Minsk 2 plant.
Minsk 5 will have a 399.6-megawatt (MW) gas-steam, single-shaft M701F unit running in combined-cycle mode. The project is considered a key national project in Belarus.
In October 2007, NCPE and CCOEC signed a general contract for Minsk 2, the first cooperation project in energy between China and Belarus, for two 32.5-MW combined-cycle units. According to the contract, NCPE is responsible for implementing the project. The project is progressing smoothly and is expected to begin operation later this year.
