Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corporation Gears towards Summer 2003 Kick-Off for $50 Million Bioremediation Project

Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corporation (NYSE: CSB) (Tarrytown, New York) plans to start a $50 Million bioremediation of their Toms River, New Jersey plant site. All manufacturing operations ceased at this location in December 1996 and the plant was dismantled. Ciba's goal is to restore the site to meet regulatory standards and continue functioning in an environmentally responsible manner.

Sevenson is expected to clean contaminated soil at the site, install water lines and sprinkler systems in two 100' by 300' pole barns to be constructed and used as storage facilities for the soil.
