The following is an advisory from Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources Inc.; Houston, Texas) Cisco Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) (San Jose, Ca) a worldwide leader in Internet network solutions, continues to expand its presence in the Texas Telecom Corridor. located in Richardson, a suburb north of Dallas. The new $110 million campus will consist of over 1.7 million square feet of space dedicated to research & development for their optical and wireless operations.
The 71-acre campus will be built out in three phases over the next four years and upon completion will employ a workforce of over 5,000 people. Cisco is also continuing an aggressive campaign to lease 172,000 square feet of office space in Richardson with initial tenant improvement projected to cost $5 million.
Cisco officials stated that, The Telecom Corridor., is not only an exceptional geographic location, but offers knowledgeable high tech and telecommunications specific personnel, suppliers and manufacturing resources.
The Telecom Corridor. is home to over 700 leading technology and telecommunications companies with approximately 70,000 workers and 25- million square feet of high-tech work space. The North Texas Council of Governments (Arlington, Texas), a voluntary association of local governments that assist in planning for common needs, is speculating that by the year 2010, the corridor will add 40,000 jobs making them the second largest employment center in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
