Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Construction for the 103-megawatt (MW) New Creek Windfarm just got under way. The project, which is owned by Enbridge Incorporated (NYSE: ENB) (Calgary, Alberta), awarded White Construction Incorporated (Clinton, Indiana) the general contract. White Construction will be responsible for hiring sub-contractors throughout the duration of the project.
The windfarm is located in Grant County, West Virginia. The project will utilize 45 Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica turbines to generate enough energy to power over 100,000 homes.
The windfarm has a total investment value (TIV) of $200 million and is scheduled to be completed in December of this year. The project will employ up to 200 craft workers at the peak of construction and provide 10 permanent jobs for the area.
