Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Family-owned Frank Brunckhorst Company LLC (Sarasota, Florida) is moving forward with the expansion of a meat-processing facility in Holland, Michigan. After nearly one year in the planning and development phase, construction is slated to begin this month on a 30,000-square-foot building addition on the site of Boars Head Provision Company's (Sarasota) processing facility. The new building is part of a $24 million expansion project that will allow for more production of beef and turkey products by 750,000 pounds to 2.3 million pounds. The facility processes all of the company's roast beef, corned beef and pastrami, along with its Ovengold turkey meat.
Beef and turkey processed in the plant come from farms in Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin.
Dan Vos Construction (Ada, Michigan), the design-build contractor, has subcontracted most of the major trades related to the building phase and will self-perform and sub the installation of processing equipment.
