ATTC Manufacturing, Incorporated (Tell City, Indiana), a subsidiary of Aisin Takaoka Company, Limited (Aichi, Japan), has started construction on a $35 million expansion of its automotive parts manufacturing machining operation plant in Tell City, Indiana. This is the company’s third expansion at this location since beginning production in 2001.

Building construction started at the end of August 2005 on a 74,277 square-foot addition to increase manufacturing space and boost production in response to an increasing demand for Toyota vehicles. Completion of the building is anticipated for December 2005. This expansion will take place for the next four years and will include the addition of new equipment, as well as the building addition, which will create 75 new jobs.

Seufert Construction & Supply Company, Incorporated, located in Ferdinand, Indiana, was awarded the general construction contract for the expansion of the building.

As of today, ATTC Manufacturing has invested approximately $95 million in Perry County, Indiana, which includes 290,000 square-feet of manufacturing, warehouse and office space. Since beginning operations in July 2001, ATTC has expanded twice. The initial construction of the plant involved building a $30 million 160,000 square-foot plant. In October of 2002, the company underwent a $3 million 66,200 square-foot expansion, and in December of 2004, the company invested $11 million for a 55,170 square-foot expansion.

ATTC Manufacturing, Incorporated, headquartered in Tell City, Indiana, was established in the year 2000. The company specializes in manufacturing brake drums, brake rotors, engine caps, steering knuckles, and carriers and ships roughly six million parts a year to their customers. The company currently employs 257 people. Their customers include TMMK, TMMI, TMMC, NUMMI, TMMAL, TMMWV, Nissan Decherd Plant, and American Axle. The current plant includes 37 lines that are installed and operational, with six lines to be installed.
