Contractor Awarded for Regional Distribution Center in Wyoming
Construction plans consist of building an 850,000 square-foot distribution center in Laramie County to support regional distribution operations

Wal-Mart Stores, Incorporated (NYSE:WMT) (Bentonville, Arkansas), the worlds #1 retailer, has awarded the general construction contract to Walton Construction Company (Ellisville, Missouri) for construction of a grassroot $60 million regional distribution center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Carter & Burgess, Incorporated, located in Fort Worth, Texas, provided architectural and engineering services for the new center.
Wal-Mart is currently nearing completion of a $70 million perishable goods regional distribution center in Sterling, Illinois. Building construction on this 900,000 square-foot center will be completed in January 2006. Walton Construction Company is also serving as the general contractor for this new center.
Wal-Mart is considered as the worlds #1 retailer with more than $220 billion in annual sales. The company operates more than 5,700 stores, including some 1,350 discount stores, nearly 2,000 combination discount and grocery stores (Wal-Mart Supercenters in all fifty states in the U.S. and ASDA in the UK), and 550 warehouse stores (SAM'S CLUB). Wal-Mart is also the #1 retailer in Canada and Mexico. Currently, the company employs 1.7 million people.
