Croatia's Rijeka Refinery to Perform Maintenance Turnaround in 2012
INA Industrija Nafte's (Rijeka, Croatia) 90,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Rijeka will undergo maintenance in some processing units in the first quarter of 2012.
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Córdoba, Argentina)--INA Industrija Nafte's (Rijeka, Croatia) 90,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Rijeka will undergo maintenance in some processing units in the first quarter of 2012.
The oil refinery is near the northern part of the Adriatic Sea, taking up 3.5 square kilometers of the coastal area of Kostrena and Bakar, which are roughly 12 kilometers to the south of Rijeka. It is the shortest and most convenient connection with central Europe and with the Mediterranean. The refinery has a port, docks and off-shore devices for the supply and shipment of goods, crude oil and petroleum derivates. It is connected by a sea line that is 7.2 kilometers long and 20 inches in diameter, with the port and petroleum terminal in Omialj, on the island of Krk.
The last maintenance turnaround at the Rijeka refinery was in January 2009.
The refinery performs planned shutdowns in its processing units every three years; the next turnaround, scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2012, will be performed in the 90,000-BBL/d CDU, 90,000-BBL/d VDU, 30,000-BBL/d FCC, 4,000-BBL/d Bitumen, and 15,000-BBL/d Visbreaking units, among others. During the planned shutdown, routine cleaning and maintenance will be performed.
