CSEPDI Wins Engineering Contract for 600-Megawatt Power Plant in Turkey

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The signing ceremony for the engineering contract for the 1,200-megawatt (MW) supercritical coal-fired power plant project of Diler (Istanbul, Turkey) was held in Wuhan, the capital of central China's Hubei province, June 27, 2008, Central Southern China Electric Power Design Institute (CSEPDI) (Wuhan) announced July 1. Xie Qiuye, President of CSEPDI, Chen Guanwen, Vice President of CPI Power Engineering Company Limited (CPIPEC) (Shanghai), as well as other leaders and representatives attended the signing ceremony. Chen Xinjun, Vice President of CSEPDI, and Shi Yaoxin, Deputy General Manager of CPIPEC, signed the contract on behalf of both parties.

On January 23, CPIPEC and Diler Holdings signed the general contract for the project. CPIPEC is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of two 600-MW units for the plant. The project is located near the coastal city of Iskenderun in southern Turkey. Diler Holdings, the project owner, is one of the largest combined iron and steel enterprises in Turkey.

The Diler project is the first overseas project developed by CPIPEC in EPC mode. During the bidding process, CSEPDI provided support to CPIPEC in preparation of the bidding document, Chen Guanwen said at the signing ceremony.
