LNG
Cheniere Enters LNG Sales Agreement with EDF - The marketing arm of Cheniere Energy Incorporated (NYSE:LNG) (Houston, Texas) has entered into a sales agreement with Electricite du France (EDF) (Paris, France) for the delivery of up to 26 liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargos, or 100 million Btu, of LNG through 2018. The cargo price will be linked to the Dutch Title Transfer index, a natural gas pricing index in continental Europe.
Japan Skips Spot LNG Arrival Price Report - Japan skipped the report on its average spot LNG arrival price for July, meaning that the country received no more than one spot shipment during the month.
PIPELINES
Alliance to Resume Natural Gas Pipeline Operations This Week - Alliance Pipeline (Calgary) says that it will resume full operations of its 1.6 billion-cubic-feet-per-day natural gas mainline on Thursday. The line was closed due to the entrance of hydrogen sulfide gas into the line.

NUCLEAR
Japan Restarts Nuclear Reactor - Kyushu Electric Power began the restart of a nuclear reactor in Japan for the first time since the country's reactors were shut down following the Fukushima disaster in 2011.
REFINING
Whiting Crude Unit Down for At Least a Month - Sources say that the 240,000-barrel-per-day crude distillation unit at BP's (NYSE:BP) refinery in Whiting, Indiana, will require at least a month to repair.
PRODUCTION
NGL Price Decline Squeezes Producers - The spread between natural gas liquids (NGLs) and natural gas declined 9.2% last week to $7.02 a barrel, the lowest spread for at least two years.
EIA: U.S. Crude Production to Decline, Gas Storage to be Near Record - In its monthly Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), released Tuesday, August 11, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) (Washington, D.C.) forecasts that U.S. crude oil production will continue declining through the rest of this year and through most of 2016.
