REFINING
BP Restarts Crude Distillation Unit at Whiting - BP plc (NYSE:BP) released a statement today saying that it had restarted a crude distillation unit that has been offline since August 8 at its refinery in Whiting, Indiana. BP says that fuel production will ramp up over time.

Antero to Construct Wastewater Treatment Plant in West Virginia - Exploration and production company Antero Resources Corporation (NYSE:AR) will construct a $275 million, 60,000-barrel-per-day wastewater treatment complex in West Virginia.
RSP Permian Acquires Midland Basin Properties, as Permian Rigs Stay Steady in Summer - RSP Permian Incorporated (NYSE:RSPP) (Dallas, Texas), an independent oil & gas company, closed several bolt-on acquisitions in the Midland Basin, which is its major operating area, for about $274 million. The company estimates it has picked up more than 85 million barrels of oil equivalent from the acquisitions.
LNG Export Terminals Lead 10 Top-Valued Projects on U.S. West Coast, with Hydropower Not Far Behind - Industrial Info is tracking more than $162 billion in active projects in the states of California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii, with the 10 highest-value projects alone accounting for more than $30 billion. Two highly anticipated terminals that are designed to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) top the list; both recently received much-needed support from regulatory agencies, indicating that some of the legal red tape may be unraveling.

Encana to Sell Haynesville Assets - Canadian oil and gas producer Encana Corporation (NYSE:ECA) (Calgary) says it will sell its Haynesville Shale natural gas assets in northern Louisiana for $850 million to GEP Haynesville LLC.
Judge Backs New Jersey's $225 Million Exxon Settlement - A judge has approved New Jersey's $225 million settlement with Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XMO) (Irving, Texas) for a decades-old pollution claim on a site near New York Harbor. The state originally sought $8.9 billion in damages.
