FERC Approves Energy Transfer's Lake Charles LNG Facility - The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has given approval for Energy Transfer Partners (NYSE:ETP) (Dallas, Texas) and BG Group (Reading, England) to build, own and operate the planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Renewed Wind, Solar Tax Credits to Spur Development - Bloomberg New Energy Finance estimates that the five-year extensions to U.S. wind and solar power tax credits will prompt $73 billion of investment and the development of 39 gigawatts of renewable energy in the U.S.
Minnesota Power Wraps Up Three-Year Emissions Reduction Project - Minnesota Power, a subsidiary of ALLETE Incorporated (NYSE:ALE) (Duluth, Minnesota), has completed a three-year, $260 million project to reduce mercury and sulfur dioxide emissions at its Boswell Energy Center in Cohasset.

Magellan, Plains Announce Open Season for New Origin for Crude Pipeline - Magellan Midstream Partners LP (NYSE: MMP) and Plains All American Pipeline LP (NYSE: PAA) announced that BridgeTex Pipeline Company, owned 50/50 by Magellan and Plains, has launched an open season to assess customer interest in a new origin point in Grimes County, Texas, about 100 miles northwest of Houston, for the BridgeTex pipeline to accept Eaglebine crude oil and condensate shipments.
TransCanada Raises Cost of Energy East Pipeline - After addressing concerns from communities along the route of TransCanada's Energy East pipeline, which will carry crude oil from Alberta's oil sands to eastern Canada, the company has raised the cost of the project from C$12 billion to C$15.7 billion.

Nigeria to Produce 2.4 Million BBL/d of Crude in 2016 - Nigeria's petroleum minister of state says that the country plans to produce 2.4 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in 2016.

Netanyahu Gives Go-Ahead for Leviathan Gas Field - Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed a deal giving final approval for the development of the country's offshore Leviathan natural gas field, which is being developed by Noble Energy Incorporated (NYSE:NBL) (Houston, Texas) and Delek Group Limited (Netanya, Israel).

Cameron Shareholders Approve Schlumberger Takeover - Field equipment producer Cameron International Incorporated (NYSE:CAM) (Houston) shareholders approved the company's takeover by Schlumberger Limited (NYSE:SLB) (Houston) in a deal valued at about $12.7 billion.
