Venezuela to Cut 95,000 BBL/d of Crude Production - Venezuela said on Tuesday it will cut 95,000 barrels per day of oil production in the New Year in fulfillment of a producers' deal to reduce global output and strengthen prices. (Reuters)
Algeria's Sonatrach to Boost Output 20% - Algeria's state energy producer Sonatrach Group plans to increase output of natural gas and crude oil by 20% in the next four years as new projects start up, Salah Mekmouche, the company's vice president of exploration and production, said. (Bloomberg)

Mexico's Gasoline Prices Set to Rise - Mexican gasoline prices will rise by as much as 20.1% next month compared to the highest recorded prices in December, the government said on Tuesday, as part of a program to end years of government-set prices at the pump. (Reuters)

Southern Power Acquires Two Texas Windfarms - Southern Company (NYSE:SO) (Atlanta, Georgia) subsidiary Southern Power has acquired a 174-megawatt (MW) and 126-MW windfarm in Texas. (Fuel Fix)
Detroit Edison to Close Coal Plants, Build New Gas, Renewable Generation - Units of DTE Energy Company (NYSE:DTE) (Detroit, Michigan), like many other electric utilities, are closing coal-fired generation while building new gas-fired and renewable generators. When it comes to renewables, however, the Michigan-based utility holding company got there before many of its peers, and its investment dwarfs that of other electric utilities. (IIR)
