Phillips 66 Starts NGL Fractionator - Phillips 66 (NYSE: PSX) has begun operations at its new 100,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionator located at the company's Sweeny Complex in Brazoria County, Texas.

EIA: U.S. Crude Oil Production Down 60,000 Barrels per Day in November - In its most recent Short-Term Energy Outlook report, released December 8, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) states that U.S. crude oil production declined by about 60,000 BBL/d in November 2015 compared to October, averaging approximately 9.2 million BBL/d in November.

U.S. Natural Gas Production to Reach Record High in 2015 - The EIA also reports that U.S. natural gas production is expected to average 79.58 billion cubic feet per day in 2015, the fifth consecutive annual record high for U.S. gas production.

Ohio Nuclear Plant Receives 20-Year Life Extension - FirstEnergy Corporation (NYSE:FE) (Akron, Ohio) reports that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved a 20-year license extension for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station in Oak Harbor, Ohio, allowing the unit to operate until 2037.

Woodside Scraps Oil Search Takeover Attempt - Australia's Woodside Petroleum (Perth) says it is no longer pursuing its $8 billion proposed takeover of rival Oil Search Limited (Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea).

CRUDE OIL
China Oil Imports Remain High - Reuters reports that China's November crude oil imports rose 7.6% from the same month a year ago. The country imported 6.65 million BBL/d last month.

PIPELINES
Protesters Forces Enbridge Crude Oil Pipeline Offline - Enbridge Incorporated (NYSE:ENB) (Calgary, Alberta) was forced to shut down its 300,000-BBL/d Line 9 crude oil pipeline when protesters locked themselves to equipment at a valve site in Quebec.

NATURAL GAS
Warm Weather to Continue in Eastern U.S. - Forecasts call for above-normal temperatures for the eastern U.S. through mid-December, meaning that U.S. natural gas reserves are expected to remain at high levels in the coming weeks.
