PRODUCTION
EIA: U.S. Natural Gas Production to Reach New High in 2015 - The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) says that the U.S. is on track to produce an average of 79.61 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas, which would mark the fifth consecutive year of a new record high in production.

EIA: Permian to Break 2 Million Barrels per Day in November - The EIA also forecast that crude oil production in the Permian Basin would average above 2 million barrels per day for the first time ever this month.

NATURAL GAS
U.S. Gas Exports to Mexico Continue Growing - Bloomberg reports that from January through August this year, U.S. gas exports to Mexico climbed 60% to 3.26 billion cubic feet per day, with analysts saying increased cross-border capacity will triple Mexico's natural gas consumption in the coming years.

PIPELINES
KXL Pipeline Permit Denial Caps a Week to Forget for TransCanada - TransCanada Corporation (NYSE:TRP) (Calgary, Alberta) had a really bad week last week. On Thursday, the company decided to drop plans to build a port in Québec from the scope of its Energy East Pipeline project, which would bring crude oil eastward across Canada. Then, on Friday, President Barack Obama denied TransCanada the presidential permit to build the Keystone XL Pipeline, a 1,179-mile, crude-oil pipeline that would have brought up to about 830,000 barrels per day of oil sands crude oil to the U.S. Industrial groups, including the oil industry, and Republicans on Capitol Hill sharply criticized the president's decision, but environmental organizations welcomed it.

World's First Floating Windfarm Gets Funding - Funding has been secured to construct the world's first floating windfarm, off the coast of Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
