Fairless Energy LLC (Morrisville, Pennsylvania), a subsidiary of Dominion Resources Incorporated (NYSE: D) (Richmond, Virginia) has completed construction and is performing start-up testing for the first phase of the $800 million Fairless Works Energy Center located on a 45-acre site within the USX Industrial Park, about a mile south of Morrisville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Phase I of the project, which started construction in December of 2001 is expected to be commercially available in March with the second Phase to be available in June. The Fairless energy project consists of two combined cycle power Islands, each incorporating two 170 megawatt natural gas fired GE Power Systems MS7001FA PG7241(FA) combustion turbine generators and equipped with dry low NOx burners, two Vogt-NEM heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), with duct burners and selective catalytic reduction units included, and a single 250 megawatt GE Power Systems condensing D-11 steam turbine generator.
Sargent & Lundy LLC incorporated, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois was awarded the engineering contract on the project. The Hake Group (Eddystone, Pennsylvania) is the general contractor. (Plant 1053087, PEC 12002651)
