Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Hampshire Chemical (Nashua, New Hampshire), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) (Midland, Michigan) since 1998, is planning to close its Nashua, New Hampshire, plant. The plant, which produces sarcosinate-based surfactants, will be closed and then demolished over the next few months. The decision to shut the plant down is a result of poor profitability, due to over-the-top fixed costs and a decline in production. A loss of 64 jobs will result from the New Hampshire closure. Hampshire Chemical will continue to maintain production operations of its second plant, located in Waterloo, New York.

They are also used in herbicide and pesticide formations.
Dow serves over 180 countries and a vast array of markets, including food, transportation, health and medicine, personal and home care, and building and construction, to name a few.
