Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for Sichuan Anning Iron and Titanium Company Limited's (Panzhihua, Sichuan) Panzhihua vanadium/titanium pellets project received approval from the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) recently, the MEP announced on May 8.
Anning Iron and Titanium's Panzhihua vanadium/titanium pellets project is to be built in the owner's Titanium Works in the Baima Industrial Park of Miyi County, in Southwest China's Sichuan province. The project entails construction of a 1.3 million-metric-ton-per-year vanadium/titanium pellet production line, including processes for material preparation, fine ore drying, high pressure grinder, pellet making, sieving, billet drying and pre-heating, oxidized baking, and associated support facilities such as coal powder preparation, water and electricity supplies, compressor station and so on. Major equipment of the project includes one set of 4- x 41-meter chain grate, a 35-meter-long, 5-meter-diameter rotary kiln, and a 69-square-meter circular cooling machine. According to the approval, total investment in the project will be about $60 million, including $6.7 million for environmental protection.
With the approval of the EIA Report, the project is expected to receive final approval shortly. According to the schedule, construction of the project will be carried out later this year.
As a growing private company initially established in 1994, Anning Iron and Titanium currently has an annual output of 3 million metric tons of vanadium/titanium magnetite, 1 million metric tons of iron ore concentrates, 200,000 metric tons of titanium concentrates, and 100,000 metric tons of quality lime.
As reported, the project will be part of the owner's Vanadium, Titanium & Magnetite Cyclic Economic Industrial Park in Miyi County. In addition to the pellet project, the owner also plans to build one special vanadium/titanium casting project with proposed output of 1 million metric tons per year.
