The other project involves two American Electric Power Company (NYSE:AEP)(Columbus, Ohio) subsidiaries, Columbus Southern Power Company (Conesville, Ohio) and Ohio Power Company (Columbus, Ohio), which have partnered together to invest $900 million in a 600 MW Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) unit to be online by 2011. AEP has selected a team of GE Power Systems (Houston, Texas), a subsidiary of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE)(Fairfield, Connecticut), and Bechtel Group, Incorporated (San Francisco, California) to provide the coal gasification technology, engineering, procurement and construction.
