TERMINALS
Louisiana Offshore Oil Port Reopens After Ida - The Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP), the largest U.S. privately owned deepwater crude oil terminal, has fully reopened its marine operations for imports and exports, a spokesperson said on Friday. The facility closed on August 28 ahead of Hurricane Ida, which caused extensive damages to U.S. Gulf of Mexico oil production and processing. More than two-thirds of oil production was shut-in on Friday. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Terminals Plant Database can click here for the plant profile. REFINING
U.S. Loans ExxonMobil Another 1.5 Million Barrels of Crude Oil from Strategic Petroleum Reserve - The U.S. Energy Department said on Thursday it has approved a second loan of 1.5 million barrels of oil to Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) (Irving, Texas) from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) after damage from Hurricane Ida devastated offshore oil production. "The SPR's ability to conduct exchanges is a critical tool available to refiners to strengthen the fuel supply chain and mitigate disruptions following emergencies, like Hurricane Ida," the department said on its website after authorizing the additional loan to Exxon's 520,000-barrel-per-day Baton Rouge refinery.
