Freeport LNG Receives Approval for Partial Restart - Freeport LNG (Houston, Texas) said on Tuesday it had received regulatory approval to restart commercial operations at its Texas liquefied natural gas (LNG) following a June fire that caused it to shut down. The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved the partial restart of two liquefaction trains, two tanks, and one loop and dock each, a filing showed on Tuesday. Restart of a third train, along with a tank, a loop, and a dock, would require additional permission. Norway's January Oil & Gas Output Falls - Norway's crude oil output slipped in January from the previous month, missing the official forecast, preliminary data from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) showed on Tuesday. Crude oil output eased to 1.75 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in January from 1.77 million BBL/d in December, missing a forecast of 1.78 million BBL/d, the NPD said. Natural gas output also declined slightly to 356.8 million cubic meters per day in January from 360.3 million cubic meters per day in December. (Reuters)

France's Engie Reports Rise in Annual Profits - French energy company Engie (Paris) reported a sharp increase in its annual profit, helped by higher natural gas and power prices in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The company said its net recurring income for 2022 totaled 5.2 billion euros (US$5.55 billion), up from 2.9 billion euros (US$3.09 billion) in 2021. (Reuters)
