Gerdau Acominas continues with the engineering development of the UTM II project, which is part of the expansion of its Miguel Burnier iron ore mining operation in Brazil. The project consists of increasing the processing capacity from 5 million tons per year to 11 million tons per year of iron ore to reach a total capacity of 18 million tons per year.

The company expects to obtain a final environmental license in 2022, and expects the project to kick off during the same year.
