U.S. ENERGY EXPORTS
U.S. Gulf Coast LNG, Oil Exports Hit Zero on Sunday, Says Ship-Tracking Firm - Exports of crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from U.S. Gulf Coast ports tumbled to zero on Sunday before rebounding on Monday, after Winter Storm Fern swept much of the country, ship-tracking service Vortexa said. Up to 2 million barrels per day (BBL/d) of oil production went offline over the weekend due to the frigid weather, according to some analyst estimates. Crude oil exports were around 4.2 million BBL/d on Saturday, and fell to zero on Sunday before climbing to 4.4 million BBL/d on Monday, Vortexa data showed. LNG exports fell from 159 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) on Saturday to zero on Sunday. LNG exports climbed to 83.1 million MTPA on Monday, the data showed. (Reuters)
EARNINGS
Woodside Posts 13% Profit Drop on Lower Oil Prices - Australia's Woodside Energy (Perth) on Wednesday posted a 13% drop in its fourth-quarter 2025 revenue, as global crude prices continued to decline amid geopolitical uncertainties and softer demand at home. Oil prices closed 2025 nearly 20% lower, their steepest annual decline since the 2020 pandemic. Woodside achieved an average realized price of US$57 per barrel of oil equivalent (boe) for the quarter, compared with US$63 per boe in the same period of 2024. (Reuters)
CRUDE OIL
Oil Futures Surge on Reduced U.S. Output - Oil prices settled 3% higher on Tuesday as producers reeled from a winter storm that hobbled U.S. crude oil production. Brent crude futures settled up $1.98 or 3.02%, at $67.57 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude settled up $1.76 or 2.9%, at $62.39 a barrel. U.S. oil producers lost up to 2 million BBL/d or roughly 15% of national production over the weekend, analysts and traders estimated, as Fern swept across the country, straining energy infrastructure and power grids.
