GWF Power Systems LP, a joint venture between PSEG Global USA Incorporated (Parsipanny, New Jersey) and Harbert Power Corporation (Birmingham, Alabama), began commercial operation of the Tracy Peaking Station located in Tracy, California in San Joaquin County.
The 169 megawatt (MW) peaking station consists of two 85 MW GE Power Systems Frame 7EA (PG7121 (EA) models) combustion turbines with state-of-the-art air emissions-reduction technology including Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) for the control of NOx emissions. As a simple-cycle peaking station, Tracy will only operate during the summer and winter months, when power demands are at their highest, to help meet the growing needs of San Joaquin County.
