Iberdrola Renewable Begins Construction on 24-Megawatt Windfarm in New Hampshire

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Iberdrola Renewable Energies USA (Radnor, Pennsylvania), a subsidiary of Grupo Iberdrola S.A. (Bilbao, Pais Vasco, Spain), has started construction on the estimated $41 million, 24-megawatt (MW) Lempster Mountain windfarm project near Lempster, New Hampshire.

Construction began this month, and the windfarm is scheduled to go into full commercial operation in August. The project consists of constructing 12 2 MW Gamesa G87 wind turbine generators that will be able to provide electricity for up to 10,500 homes in New Hampshire. The Public Service of New Hampshire, the state's largest electric utility, will purchase the entire output of the Lempster project, with a portion resold to the New Hampshire Electric Coop for use in serving its customers.

Reed & Reed Incorporated (Woolwich, Maine) will provide the turnkey engineering, procurement and construction services for the project.
