Chevron, on Saturday, January 11, restarted the 33,000-BBL/d SF Alky unit at its 260,000-BBL/d El Segundo, California, refinery. The unit was shut down on January 3. The same SF Alky had been in planned turnaround between September 18, 2019, and December 10, 2019.
Phillips 66 will shut down the 72,000-BBL/d Crude 9 unit on January 16 at its 259,000-BBL/d Sweeny, Texas, refinery. The Crude 9 turnaround will continue until the end of February.
Motiva will conduct a 45-day turnaround at its Port Arthur, Texas, refinery in late January 2020. This turnaround includes the 81,000-BBL/d FCCU 3, the 18,000-BBL/d SF Alky, 90,000-BBL/d HTU 5 Diesel Hydrotreater, SRU 6 and the 50,000-BBL/d Cat Feed Hydrotreater.

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation reports no impact to operations at its 110,000-BBL/d Tabangao Refinery, located in Batangas, Philippines, despite the eruption of Taal Volcano and earthquakes. IIR continues to monitor the situation.
Total Refining & Chemicals is halting production at its 230,000-BBL/d Donges Refinery in France due to a nationwide worker strike that began December 5. The refinery hasn't received deliveries from the Saint-Nazaire harbor since January 12. The production units are gradually shutting down, after being operational at reduced rates of about 70% since December 12.
