Marathon shut down the 65,000-BBL/d UU 4 Reformer on December 7 at its 437,000-BBL/d Galveston Bay Refinery (GBR) in Texas City, Texas, to perform minor maintenance and repairs. The unit is expected to restart on December 10.
Pemex TRI continues with a maintenance turnaround of four units at its 177,000-BBL/d Ciudad Madero, Mexico, refinery. Major repairs on the crude unit and preventive work on the other processing units, which began on November 5 and were originally scheduled to be completed by December 7 and December 14, respectively, are now set to be finished by December 21. The 137,000-BBL/d Crude Combo 3 unit is online, processing 68,500 BBL/d, while the remaining operational units are derated by 70%.
Pemex TRI restarted the 40,000-BBL/d FCCU and 14,000-BBL/d Diesel HDS U-7 on December 5 at its 243,000-BBL/d Salamanca, Mexico, refinery, after being forced offline on October 27 and November 3, respectively, due to mechanical issues. The refinery continues to process at 40 to 45% of total capacity, due to inventory controls related to company finances and COVID-19 .

ENEOS Corporation is on schedule to perform a 101-day planned turnaround, beginning February 25, 2021, of the 105,000-BBL/d CDU 3 and associated units within the 200,200-BBL/d Plant B (Area 2-B) at its 350,200-BBL/d Mizushima Refinery in Japan. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units on June 5. The flare stacks connected to both the CDU 2 and CDU 3 at Plant B will undergo repairs during the planned turnaround, which will require a sympathy outage involving the 95,200-BBL/d CDU 2 from February 21 to April 22; the 30,000-BBL/d Delayed Coker from March 1 to April 15; and the 5,000-BBL/d Reformer 1 from February 16 to April 26. Separately, the 26,000-BBL/d Reformer 3 will be shut down from February 23 to June 11.
Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has rescheduled a 30-day planned maintenance shutdown of the 40,000-BBL/d FCCU at its 346,000-BBL/d Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery in Kuwait. The turnaround, previously scheduled for January 15, 2021, is now expected to start by September 1. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by September 30, 2021. Separately, the 31-day planned maintenance shutdown of the 40,000-BBL/d Hydrocracker unit has been rescheduled from January 15 to January 15, 2022. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by February 14, 2022.
ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd has operated its 300,000-BBL/d Jurong Refinery (Mainland) in Singapore at approximately 65% since October 31, due to low demand as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The plant, which includes eight major units, is tentatively expected to resume full throughput by January 31, 2021.
