China's Jinshenglan Group recently agreed to build a 6 million-ton-per-year specialty steel mill in Heyuan City, and earlier this year agreed to build an 8 million-ton-per-year specialty steel mill in Yunfu City. Both cities are in Guangdong Province.
The Heyuan City mill will use a high-efficiency scrap preheating quantum arc furnace from Siemens AG and a six-generation high-speed rolling mill from Morgan. The project will begin construction in 2020 and is expected to be completed within three years. The Yunfu City project remains in the permitting stage and is expected to begin construction next year.
