Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Privately held, cold storage provider, Lanier Cold Storage LLC (Gainesville, Georgia) is planning to double the size of their cold storage warehouse in Lula, Georgia. (PEC 17001782)
Currently, the company is hammering out the final project design drawings with design-build contractor Bonar Engineering & Construction Company (Jacksonville, Florida) on a project that will add over 200,000 square feet of space to the existing facility located at 3801 Cornelia Highway, about ten miles northeast of Gainesville.
Plans call for the addition of a high-rise freezer capable of stacking pallets six high, a blast freezer, new shipping docks and an office area. The facility's ammonia refrigeration system will also be expanded to handle the additional storage space.
Construction is scheduled to begin on this $9 million project within the next 30 to 60 days and will take approximately nine months to complete.
Lanier Cold Storage has been in business in the Gainesville area since mid 2001. The company stores and distributes poultry, red meats, and any frozen food and sits on rail access via Norfolk Southern Corporation.
