Losses of Four Major Power Producers in China Could Total More Than $1 Billion

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Despite experiencing fast growth in power output, four of the top five nationwide power producers in China fell into deficits in the first of half 2008. A report by the Shanghai Securities News estimates the total deficit to be more than $1 billion.

Of China's top power producers, China Huaneng Group was the only one of the five to generate profit, though it was a small one. A figure has not been disclosed.
