Manufacturer of Automotive Stabilizer Bars Begins Expansion in Kentucky

New Mather Metals Incorporated (Toledo, Ohio), a subsidiary of NKH Spring Limited (Yokohama, Japan), is currently underway with construction of an expansion of the company's stabilizer bar manufacturing plant in Franklin, Kentucky. Plans are to construct a 200,000 square foot addition adjacent to the existing plant, located in the Sanders East Industrial Park off Kentucky 100 East and to install two production lines to manufacture stabilizer bars and stabilizer links. Groundbreaking occurred in late October 2004 and completion is scheduled for August 2005.
New Mather Metals, based in Toledo, Ohio, is fully owned and operated by NKH Spring Limited (Yokohama, Japan). New Mather Metals was acquired by NHK Spring in 1987 and commenced full production operations in Kentucky in November 2002. New Mather Metals is a major supplier of tubular suspension bars for the automotive industry, supplying parts for Nissan, Toyota, and General Motors. NHK was founded in 1911 as Japan's first domestic producer of industrial springs. It is currently the world's largest spring manufacturer with worldwide production facilities. It includes 53 affiliated companies in thirteen countries and regions, located in Japan, Asia, North and South America, and Europe. It currently has over 14,000 employees and annual sales of $3 billion.
