Michigan Automotive Plastics Supplier Completes Expansion

Plastic injection molder, Ironwood Plastics Incorporated (Ironwood, Michigan) is just completing a $1.9 million, 10,000 square foot expansion to its existing 44,210 square foot manufacturing plant in Ironwood. The expansion will give the company a proper place for the new equipment and machinery it has recently acquired, which is presently, in the words of Vice President Mark Stephens, "just shoe-horned in".

The expansion, which was begun in August, was completely enclosed by mid-October and is expected to be completed by the end of December. Wayne Nasi Construction (Hurley, Wisconsin), who built the original building for Ironwood Plastics in 1996, is general contractor for the project.

Ironwood also completed a $380,000 renovation of its 25,200 square foot manufacturing facility in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, in August of this year.

Besides the two recent expansions at their existing plants, Ironwood Plastics is at this time considering possible constructors for a third facility it plans to build in Michigan in 2004. Industrialinfo.com will be reporting on this project in the very near future.
