Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Mid-State Chemical and Supply Corporation (Indianapolis, Indiana) is planning to select a general contractor as soon as next week for an expansion that will more than double the size of its existing plant in Indianapolis. Mid-State currently operates in approximately 28,000 square feet of building space on its 14-acre site located on Greenbriar Lane. This expansion will add 19,000 square feet of two-story office and administration areas plus another 20,000 square feet of production floor space.

American Consulting Incorporated (Indianapolis, Indiana) has provided A&E services for this estimated $2.7 million project and has assisted Mid-State in preparing the general contractor bid packages for a short list of just four contractors which currently includes:

· United Construction Enterprise Company of Indianapolis

· Shiel Sexton Incorporated

· R L Turner Construction Company

· T&W Corporation

Civil construction for the new pre-cast concrete building is expected to begin in October of this year and be complete within eight months. The new production area will include several new 4,500 gallon steam jacketed stainless steel agitated mix tanks, which are 20 feet tall and sit at least six feet below the surface, a new package boiler, reverse osmosis water treatment system, and the relocation of all equipment from the existing production building. When complete in late Summer 2005, the existing buildings will be used for warehousing and shipping operations.

Mid-State produces synthetic press lubricants used by several of the large automotive producers, as well as other industrial manufacturers, including Whirlpool. Recent growth in its market share has led Mid-State to expand and begin entertaining a larger share of export and international markets.
